Pre-Care
Preparing properly before your appointment helps ensure your skin receives the best possible results. Whether you’re coming in for a facial, wax, or chemical peel, following a few simple steps can make your treatment smoother, safer, and more effective. Here’s everything you need to know before your visit.

Treatment Pre-Care Guidelines
To ensure the best results and protect the integrity of your skin and cosmetic treatments, please review and follow these guidelines before your appointment:
-
Face/Body Peel Skin Prep (only if you are getting a peel)
-
Some clients are required to prep their skin with the KRX Mela Defense Serum for 2 weeks (minimum 1 week) prior to their scheduled peel. This ensures even, safe, and optimal results.
-
Please contact us if you have any questions about whether prep is needed for your skin.
-
-
Pause ALL Actives
-
Please pause all active ingredients—including Tretinoin, Retin-A, Retinol, AHAs, BHAs, and Vitamin C—for 3 days before and after your facial to prevent irritation.
-
-
Avoid Exfoliation
-
Refrain from using any exfoliating products or treatments 24–48 hours before and after your facial. This includes scrubs, AHA/BHA acids, enzyme exfoliants, and at-home peels.
-
-
Waxing
-
Brow or lip waxing before a facial is okay.
-
Full-face waxing is not allowed before facials.
-
No waxing of any kind before chemical peels.
-
-
Microblading / Microshading Eyebrows
-
Please schedule your facial at least 4 weeks before or after your microblading or microshading appointment to avoid disrupting the healing process.
-
-
Brow Lamination / Lash Lift / Eyelash Extensions
-
Book your facial before, or a minimum of 24 hours after, your brow lamination, lash lift, or eyelash extension appointment to prevent moisture or steam from affecting fresh treatments.
-
-
Fillers & Botox
-
Schedule your facial two weeks before or two weeks after any Botox or dermal filler injections. This allows time for proper settling and reduces the risk of pressure on treated areas.
-
-
Important Events
-
Do not book a facial immediately before an important event. Facials are best scheduled at least 1 week prior to any special occasion to allow your skin time to settle and glow naturally.
-
Do not book a face/body peel right before an important event. We recommend scheduling any peel at least 4 weeks before your special day to allow proper healing time.
-
-
Arrive With Clean Skin
-
Whenever possible, please arrive with minimal or no makeup to help us begin your treatment promptly and accurately assess your skin.
-
-
Sun Protection
-
Avoid excessive sun exposure before your appointment. Sunburned or compromised skin cannot be treated safely. Daily SPF is highly recommended.
-
-
Keep Your Esthetician Updated
-
Inform your esthetician of any new medications, skincare products, or recent treatments so we can tailor your facial safely and effectively.
-
Face/Body Peel Price & Policy
All of our peels are charged at a flat rate, regardless of:
-
the number of layers applied
-
whether the peel is lighter or stronger
-
the duration of the treatment
Pricing is based on the service itself—not layers, time, or peel strength.
